Exam season can be stressful – not just for kids, but for parents as well. How can we support our kids and give them the help they need?

The mental health of our children and teens is currently a hot topic in our nation. As exam season is upon us, it's often our parental stress that inadvertantly gets transferred to our children, despite our best efforts.

Moonlake

Moonlake Lee

Moonlake is the Founder of Unlocking ADHD. She is also the mom of two daughters in their late teens, one of whom has ADHD. She supported her two daughters in their exams, most recently their stressful O-Levels and A-Levels. A multi-hyphenate, she was a former lawyer who also worked in healthcare, real estate and investments. A community builder by nature, she enjoys long dinners and discussions with her family.

Tracy Teo

Tracy is a parent to 2 primary school going children. Her older boy who has ADHD, is taking his PSLE this year. Work wise, she is a HR professional in the government sector.

Tina Tan

Tina is a mum of an ADHD boy who struggled in his academics in Secondary school, causing him to develop depression and suicide ideation. She had to learn ways to support him and hopes to share with parents how their teen's mental health is more important than their academic performance.

Charlene Han

Charlene is mum to a ADHDer and another with Executive Dysfunction. She is passionate about supporting youths and parents as a certified Transformational Coach and SPARK Resilience Trainer. A positive psychology and mindfulness practitioner, she believes in a strength-based approach to helping individuals thrive.

She currently supports students with Special Education Needs in an private international school. She is also a certified facilitator in The Incredible Years - Parents and Babies Programme (New-born - 12 months) and Good Enough Parenting Programme. She advocates parenting as journey, focused at building positive relationships at each stage of a child’s development, building resilience, forging a growth mindset and to nurture children to thrive in today’s competitive environment.

AMKFSC Community Services has a Psychological Services Unit (PSU) which has a team of clinical and counselling psychologists for children/youth and their parents. Core services include psychoeducational assessments (5 to 16 years old) for ADHD and other learning disabilities. They also offer group and individual psychotherapy. They only provide services to residents in their constituency.

Fees are $70 per one hour session. Psychoeducational testing ranges between $750 to $1,120 depending on the tests required.
