How We Have Helped

“Unlocking ADHD’s counselling service has truly been a lifeline for my son and for me as a parent. Before counselling, I often felt overwhelmed and helpless watching him struggle with big emotions. Since attending counselling, I notice his attempts at regulating his emotions, which actually results in fewer intense outbursts these days. More importantly, he has become more open and willing to share his feelings with me. The support we received has made a real difference in our lives.” - [Parent of boy of age XX]

“My counsellors at Unlocking ADHD have been my sounding block, helping me break things down and make sense of them when I’m feeling anxious or overwhelmed. They guided me to take baby steps in the right direction and encouraged me when I stalled or felt lost. They even challenged me by playing devil's advocate with the aim of leading me towards managing situations independently.” - [Insert client profile]

“My counsellor is empathetic and effective. She understands by giving space for sharing, and by deeper observation of not just what is shared but how it is shared. She is effective in suggesting perspectives and approaches for discussion and consideration, and does it with kindness and consideration for our struggles, so that I might have confidence to make more slow but sure progress.”  - [Insert client profile]

“For the first time, when I spoke to my counsellor, I didn't feel like I had to apologise for how my brain works"  - [Insert client profile]
